CCA's sculpture program embraces diverse disciplines and perspectives. Students engage with various sophisticated materials while exploring the medium's historical and contemporary significance. Unlike conventional fine arts curricula, we prioritize experimentation. Opportunities abound to explore performance, installation, video, and social practice. The sculpture curriculum at CCA fosters idea development through conceptual thinking and problem-solving. Studio classes cover everything from classic bronze casting to advanced 3D digital fabrication, encouraging creative exploration across installation, video, performance, and public art. Students create works varying in size and medium, gaining professional exhibition experience through solo and group shows before completing their degree.
Graduates leave with both a strong theoretical understanding of sculpture and extensive material expertise. What distinguishes them is their versatile skill set—not just fundamental craftsmanship but interdisciplinary abilities drawing from furniture design, glasswork, interaction design, jewelry and metalwork, textiles, and numerous other fields.
