The Environmental Pathology track provides foundational knowledge about how environmental and occupational exposures—such as chemicals, mineral fibers, and stress—contribute to disease mechanisms, with the goal of prevention. At Brown, environmental pathology research involves diverse collaborations, offering students numerous chances to partner with faculty mentors on ongoing projects. A key feature is the yearly Environmental Pathology Symposium. This fall event, held alongside the Graduate Program Retreat, brings in a distinguished keynote speaker from the field. Students are supported in joining relevant professional organizations and showcasing their research at national conferences.
