Our graduate program provides a dynamic academic setting where students investigate French and Francophone literature and culture through diverse historical periods, thematic focuses, and critical methodologies. We aim to cultivate scholars and educators with comprehensive knowledge of French and Francophone literary traditions, fostering innovative thinking, writing, and teaching. Through close collaboration with faculty members, each student receives personalized guidance. Every participant is matched with a faculty advisor who offers ongoing mentorship, helps develop conference presentations and publishable articles, and provides detailed support during career transitions. Our program boasts an excellent track record of successful career placements for our alumni.
Graduates of non-U.S. colleges and universities who have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree may apply for admission to the Brown University Graduate School.
Regarding TOEFL, the recommended minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test. For IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
