The capstone project allows students to engage in either a comprehensive data analysis initiative or the creation and assessment of statistical methodologies. Typically structured as a semester-long independent study guided by a faculty member from the Biostatistics Department or related departments, this experience requires students to collaborate with professors on research endeavors featuring significant statistical elements. If the advising professor comes from outside Biostatistics, the Undergraduate Statistics Concentration Director supervises the capstone to guarantee it incorporates meaningful statistical work that aligns with the program's objectives.
