The Applied Mathematics-Economics program is structured to align with the quantitative foundations of contemporary economic theory and research. This concentration offers two specialized paths. The first, an advanced economics pathway, equips students for graduate-level economics studies. The second, a mathematical finance pathway, prepares students for either finance-related graduate programs or careers in financial engineering and finance sectors. Each track is available as both A.B. and Sc.B. degree options, including a Professional track variant. Core mathematical competencies in Applied Mathematics draw from diverse disciplines relevant to specific problem-solving needs: differential equations (both ordinary and partial), matrix algebra, statistical methods, probability theory, decision analysis, and risk assessment, among others. This field attracts individuals with varied interests, from those seeking strong quantitative skills for professional applications to those fascinated by the fundamental methodologies themselves. The standard program culminates in either an A.B. or Sc.B. degree.
