The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics-Computer Science offers a core curriculum covering fundamental principles of mathematical analysis and computational methods, equipping students for higher-level studies in computer science, applied mathematics, and scientific computing. Students pursuing this concentration are required to take mathematics, applied mathematics, and computer science courses, along with a designated English composition class. While this program cultivates quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills applicable across various life domains, graduates typically advance to graduate programs, enter IT consulting and information technology sectors, or pursue careers in industrial or governmental scientific research and statistical analysis. The program provides both a standard academic path and a professional track option.
Students should complete secondary school. Brown first-year students will have completed 12 to 13 years of primary and secondary schooling.
A TOEFL score of 100 or above on the internet-based exam, or 600 or above on the paper-based exam, or a score of 8.0 or above on the IELTS, is expected in most cases.
