The Public Health concentration offers an Honors track option. Students pursuing Honors must register for PHP1980 (Honors Thesis Preparation) during both semesters of their senior year under their primary thesis advisor. Prospective Honors candidates should consult with the Honors Thesis advisor prior to submitting their required prospectus. To earn Honors distinction, students must fulfill these criteria: Submit a prospectus to the Honors Director by the first Friday in May during their junior year. Secure approval from a primary thesis advisor who endorses the prospectus, while designating a secondary advisor (signature not required). Maintain Good Academic Standing per University standards. Exhibit outstanding academic performance. Alongside completing two semesters of PHP1980 (the honors thesis project), students must finish 11 concentration courses, with a minimum of 9 taken for letter grades. A majority of A's over B's is required in all graded concentration courses. Note: An S with distinction equals an A grade, though since S_Dist doesn't appear on internal transcripts, students must report this achievement. Those uncertain about their eligibility should reach out to the Honors Advisor.
