The Music Department encourages diverse projects for Honors candidates. Thesis work in Music can encompass studies in musicology, ethnomusicology, or theory, as well as creative endeavors like performance, composition, digital music creation, studio production, or instrument development—either individually or combined. Performance-based and creative projects should include relevant supporting research or documentation. Juniors are advised to consult with potential honors committee members early to develop a suitably scaled thesis proposal.

Qualification Requirements
International applicants, like all applicants to Brown, are expected to complete secondary school. Brown's first-year students will have completed 12 to 13 years of primary and secondary schooling. Similar to applications from students within the United States, we evaluate applications from students outside the United States with their context and opportunities in mind.
