Students who want to complete the concentration through a thesis and earn Honors distinction can seek department approval to undertake a creative, analytical, or theoretical project during their final year. This thesis opportunity enables close collaboration with a faculty mentor. The MCM Honors Program requires significant intellectual effort and time commitment, so participants should be prepared to dedicate a considerable portion of their senior year to the project. Candidates will receive guidance from both a primary faculty advisor and a secondary reader from the department. In certain cases, either the advisor or reader (but not both) may come from a different academic department.
