Computational biology applies computer-based methods to study and uncover biological processes, along with developing and refining the algorithms behind these tools. This broad discipline draws from computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolutionary studies, anatomy, neuroscience, and data visualization.
Undergraduates can choose between a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Those selecting the ScB may specialize in Computational Biology with concentrations in Computer Science, Biological Sciences, or Applied Mathematics & Statistics. Both degree paths culminate in a senior research project that fosters innovative partnerships between students and faculty.
