The Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations (BEO) concentration offers an interdisciplinary curriculum combining economics, sociology, and engineering to examine commercial systems. This program explores venture creation, organizational development, market innovation, financial systems, and management theories. Students gain foundational knowledge across these disciplines while specializing in one area, with strong focus on analytical thinking and quantitative methods. Through senior capstone projects, learners collaborate on practical initiatives, including startup development, to synthesize their cross-disciplinary knowledge. Those pursuing solutions to societal issues may explore the Engaged Scholars Program alongside their BEO studies.
Students should complete secondary school. Brown first-year students will have completed 12 to 13 years of primary and secondary schooling.
A TOEFL score of 100 or above on the internet-based exam, or 600 or above on the paper-based exam, or a score of 8.0 or above on the IELTS, is expected in most cases.
