To pursue an Honors concentration in any track, students must fulfill all standard requirements while also completing an Honors thesis. For thesis preparation, students need to register for ARCH 1970 in their first senior semester and ARCH 1990 in the second (these courses cannot be taken S/NC or count toward standard concentration requirements). Honors eligibility requires completing 12 concentration courses with more A grades than B grades. This path is particularly advised for those planning graduate studies in archaeology. Students considering advanced studies should consult the undergraduate Concentration Advisor early for guidance on additional preparation. For instance, graduate programs in ancient world archaeology often demand proficiency in relevant ancient and modern languages, so students should begin developing these skills well in advance.
