The psychology PhD program delivers an intensive academic journey culminating in a doctoral degree. The initial two years focus on building comprehensive knowledge across psychological disciplines, developing research competencies, and exploring the program's specialized focus areas. In the final two years, students concentrate on advanced coursework within one of three primary specializations: (1) Applied Social Psychology, (2) Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, or (3) Developmental Psychology, with an optional Health Psychology sub-specialization available across all tracks.
Prospective students must identify potential faculty advisors in their application materials. Within the first term, each student must form a dissertation committee comprising a chair and two additional graduate faculty members, submitting an approved Program of Study. Course selection and research activities should align with the chosen specialization under the guidance of the dissertation committee chair.
