This major develops students' abilities in critical reading, analytical reasoning, and effective writing through coursework across multiple academic disciplines. The curriculum examines Latin America through lenses including history, political science, sociology, Spanish and Portuguese languages, anthropology, geography, and other fields. Many students demonstrate proficiency that exempts them from some language requirements, enabling them to: participate in additional internships, study abroad programs, and other valuable experiential learning opportunities.
