As China's economy expands rapidly and its cultural and global impact grows, there's increasing demand for Chinese language skills in the United States and other Western nations. Across American educational institutions, Chinese language studies are consistently advancing. Brandeis University offers a one-year Master of Arts in Teaching Chinese program, equipping graduates to teach Chinese language and culture at colleges or other organizations providing Chinese-language courses.
This intensive one-year program delivers:
Comprehensive training in curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and practical application for effectively instructing American students in Chinese language and culture
Pedagogical preparation enabling graduates to teach diverse Chinese language, society, and culture courses at multiple levels, including digital and online instruction formats
Hands-on teaching experience guided by distinguished faculty members both on and off campus
We welcome you to explore our distinctive program, designed for students who already hold a master's degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language or overseas Chinese language education (participants will be pursuing their second master's degree at Brandeis).
