The academic program includes seven semester-long courses, with four required for successful completion during the first year, along with four 9-week lab rotations and the non-credit CONT 300b course. In later years, students select advanced elective courses from across the School of Science. PhD candidates may join the interdisciplinary Quantitative Biology Graduate Program, which offers training in emerging research areas bridging life sciences and physical sciences.
Opportunities in BioMaterials research are available through the Quantitative Biology Training Program's coursework, followed by participation in labs supported by the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC).
