The Master of Arts in Studio Art is a 30-credit program that delves deeply into art history and theoretical studies. While it provides a solid groundwork for pursuing an MFA degree, it also offers a valuable route for establishing an independent studio practice.
During this 30-credit program, you'll begin developing visual and conceptual techniques, first focusing on mastering a primary studio discipline before expanding into related mediums. Students must specialize in one of four artistic disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture, or visual communications. Faculty evaluations occur after the initial semester, culminating in a final presentation, thesis exhibition, and comprehensive written thesis. Successful candidates may choose to advance to Bradley's terminal MFA program.
