The biology program equips you with essential knowledge and investigative abilities for advanced studies and scientific careers. You'll develop the skills to formulate and address insightful inquiries about cellular structures, living organisms, and environmental systems. Introductory courses familiarize you with research techniques in your first year, which you can then enhance through laboratory work and faculty-guided research projects.
This biology program provides five adaptable pathways to graduation. Students can pursue a general degree or specialize in areas like cellular/molecular biology, ecology/evolution, education, or medical technology. The program also offers accelerated options, including a combined 4+1 bachelor's/master's track or a conventional two-year graduate program.
Upon completing your degree, you may have gained:
Personalized guidance from professors
Chances to present your findings at academic conferences and in publications
A culminating senior research project
Professional growth opportunities through Tri-Beta honor society and the Biology Undergraduate Student Association
