The Visual Communication Technology program equips students with skills to convey ideas and concepts using visual media technologies. This major combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on training in computer-based cross-media applications, covering interactive media, print, video, and photography. Guided by faculty advisors, students can choose a specialization area from diverse career paths. The curriculum focuses on examining and implementing various techniques for producing, duplicating, and disseminating visual communication content. By program completion, students merge conceptual understanding, theoretical foundations, and creative technical problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions for visual communication challenges.

Qualification Requirements
For admission to Bowling Green State University, a freshman applicant must:
Be a graduate of a senior high school approved or accredited by the department of education of the state in which it is located, OR
Have earned high school equivalency through the General Educational Development (GED) testing program (issued by the state department of education), OR
Present GED test results and ACT or SAT test results, if the student completed secondary education through an alternative program such as home schooling, OR
Present an international baccalaureate diploma or certificate.
Admission is selective. In general, we require a high school record that includes four units each of English and mathematics, three units each of science and social studies, two units of a foreign language, and one unit of visual or performing arts.
An applicant is considered for admission on the basis of four criteria:

Cumulative grade point average
Official ACT or SAT results
Class rank
You've never attended college or all your college credits were earned prior to high school graduation (College Credit Plus or dual-enrollment)
