Our program equips graduates with foundational skills for entry-level social work positions. Grounded in liberal arts principles, our coursework imparts the essential knowledge, abilities, and ethical framework needed for effective practice across diverse social service environments. Supporting students' advancement to graduate education remains a key aspect of our program's objectives.
Upon completing the social work program, graduates become eligible to sit for the state licensing exam to earn their Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential. Career opportunities for social workers span public assistance systems, criminal justice, healthcare, mental health services, and programs serving seniors, youth, and family units. These professionals assist populations affected by socioeconomic challenges, criminal activity, physical and psychological impairments, as well as systemic bias and marginalization. The curriculum prepares students to work with individuals, family units, support groups, and broader community organizations.
