The architecture and environmental design program is a pre-professional curriculum that equips students for advanced studies in architecture or similar disciplines, or for careers in architecture-related fields. This major aims to develop students' analytical skills and foster innovative problem-solving approaches.
To practice as an architect in most states, an accredited degree is mandatory. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) recognizes two accredited degrees: the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) and the Master of Architecture (M.Arch.), which takes three years after an unrelated bachelor's or two years following a relevant preprofessional degree. These programs are designed to prepare individuals for architectural licensure and professional practice.
