BGSU's Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts programs in Studio Art equip students with comprehensive skills across all artistic mediums.

As contemporary art continues to dissolve conventional medium distinctions, the Studio Art Division provides foundational training in both two- and three-dimensional disciplines, empowering students to discover their unique artistic voice. These degree programs establish robust technical proficiency across all artistic forms.
BGSU's Sculpture program takes an interdisciplinary approach, fostering diverse creative methodologies with a focus on conceptualization and execution. The curriculum supports both a BFA in Studio Art and a Product Design minor, incorporating essential professional development. Our courses stimulate individual artistic discovery, with introductory classes blending hands-on material experimentation and digital techniques within a 3D design framework. Progressing students can select from rotating intermediate courses with specialized themes, while advanced students cultivate distinctive styles, conceptual approaches, and creative problem-solving methods.

Students gain expertise through concentrated studio practice in various disciplines including ceramics, drawing & painting, glasswork, jewelry & metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, or sculpture.

Building on this flexible foundation, the studio art program actively promotes innovative thinking and creative exploration, allowing students to tailor intermediate and advanced coursework to their personal artistic objectives.
