The BGSU Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts programs in Studio Art equip students with comprehensive skills across various artistic mediums.

As modern art continues to dissolve conventional medium distinctions, the Studio Art Division provides foundational training in both 2D and 3D disciplines, empowering students to explore their unique creative perspectives. The BGSU Studio Art degrees establish a strong base in all artistic media.

Students gain expertise through specialized studio practice in diverse fields including ceramics, drawing & painting, glasswork, jewelry & metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, or sculpture.

Building on this flexible foundation, the curriculum promotes creative exploration and bold artistic experimentation. Learners can choose intermediate and advanced courses that align with their individual artistic goals.
The Photography concentration in the Studio Division helps students cultivate a distinctive visual perspective to support their personal artistic journey. The program trains participants to observe their surroundings more attentively, recognizing subtleties, paradoxes, and contrasts through both traditional film and digital techniques. By mastering photography, students develop a critical eye for making thoughtful and inspired artistic decisions.
