Modern art continues to dissolve conventional distinctions between artistic forms. In response, the Studio Art Division equips students with comprehensive training in both 2D and 3D disciplines, empowering them to explore their unique creative paths. BGSU's Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts programs in Studio Art provide students with thorough grounding in all artistic media.
Learning occurs through specialized studio practice in various fields including ceramics, drawing & painting, glasswork, jewelry & metalsmithing, photography, printmaking, or sculpture.
Building on this flexible foundation, the studio art program promotes innovative thinking and bold artistic exploration. Students can choose intermediate and advanced courses that align with their personal artistic goals.

Qualification Requirements
For admission to Bowling Green State University, a freshman applicant must:
Be a graduate of a senior high school approved or accredited by the department of education of the state in which it is located, OR
Have earned high school equivalency through the General Educational Development (GED) testing program (issued by the state department of education), OR
Present GED test results and ACT or SAT test results, if the student completed secondary education through an alternative program such as home schooling, OR
Present an international baccalaureate diploma or certificate.
Admission is selective. In general, we require a high school record that includes four units each of English and mathematics, three units each of science and social studies, two units of a foreign language, and one unit of visual or performing arts.
An applicant is considered for admission on the basis of four criteria:
High school coursework/curriculum
Cumulative grade point average
Official ACT or SAT results
Class rank
You've never attended college or all your college credits were earned prior to high school graduation (College Credit Plus or dual-enrollment)
