BGSU's women's, gender, and sexuality studies program fosters cross-disciplinary exploration of sex, gender, and sexual identity.

This field investigates women's experiences worldwide while analyzing how gender interacts with other social factors like race, ability, cultural background, socioeconomic status, age, and sexual identity.
Through examining historical and contemporary contexts, the program works toward creating a fairer and more equitable society.

Emerging in the 1970s, Women's Studies has grown into a dynamic academic field. The adaptable curriculum offers students a comprehensive liberal arts foundation.
Program graduates gain profound insight into human differences and develop skills to engage effectively with varied communities in our globalized world - making them essential contributors to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
The program's interdisciplinary approach exposes students to multiple viewpoints, cultivating critical thinking, cultural competency, and the ability to address complex societal challenges.
