Daily news highlights growing concerns about cyber threats targeting businesses, government entities, and communication networks. As digital banking, e-commerce, and transportation systems expand, our society's reliance on cyber infrastructure intensifies. Strengthening these systems against malicious actors has emerged as a critical national objective, creating unprecedented demand for skilled professionals capable of safeguarding essential networks.
Addressing this urgent need, our Computer Science department offers a specialized cyber security track within the master's program. This concentration covers both technical aspects like secure software development and broader considerations including privacy laws and societal impacts. Through an eight-course curriculum, students master crucial areas such as encryption techniques, information protection, network defense, fault-tolerant systems, anonymity protocols, and comprehensive security methodologies.
