The Biology Department provides three MS degree pathways: a coursework option, a scholarly paper option, and a research thesis option. The coursework track can be finished within one year, while the scholarly paper track typically takes one year plus a summer term. The research thesis option generally spans two years. All three tracks pair students with faculty advisors in their chosen specialization during the initial semester.
Graduates of the master's program will be equipped for advanced graduate studies or careers in teaching and research across academic institutions, private industry, government sectors, or nonprofit organizations. The program welcomes applicants holding bachelor's degrees in biology-related fields. Those with previous graduate coursework may qualify for credit transfers.
