Founded in 1959 as one of America's pioneering graduate tax programs, Boston University School of Law's Graduate Tax Program (GTP) maintains its position among the elite. Currently holding the #2 national ranking from the National Law Journal, our program has earned recognition as a Top 10 LLM Program for US Tax Law by LLM Guide in both 2017 and 2019. For four straight years, corporate tax leaders have consistently ranked us among the top seven Taxation LLM programs in TaxTalent's annual survey.
Beyond participating in LLM Professional Development activities and social events open to all graduate students, Tax LLM candidates benefit from specialized programming in tax/estate planning and exclusive recruiting opportunities. Each year, the Graduate Tax Program provides these career-enhancing resources:
recruitment sessions with all Big 4 accounting firms (both on-campus and off-site),
exclusive job listings,
tax career networking luncheons,
lectures addressing emerging tax issues,
mentorship sessions with Tax LLM graduates,
field observations at U.S. Tax Court proceedings,
training workshops for tax research platforms and Excel,
