The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education equips students to develop artistic expertise while preparing them to teach art from preschool through 12th grade. This degree program combines studio art, education coursework, and liberal arts studies. Beyond classroom instruction, students gain hands-on experience through art education placements in area schools. Participants can choose to undertake one or two semester-long internships, qualifying them for Massachusetts teaching licenses in visual arts—either for secondary education or primary levels (Pre-K through 8th grade or grades 5-12). Each licensure path involves a 300-hour supervised practicum with an approved Art Education mentor.
