The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies provides a Middle East & North Africa Studies major for College of Arts & Sciences students. This interdisciplinary program offers comprehensive knowledge of the MENA region's history, cultures, artistic expressions, and languages (defined as areas where Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Turkish are spoken). Leveraging BU's exceptional resources in four Middle Eastern languages and regional cultural-political studies, the MENA Studies program allows students to customize their academic path based on individual interests—whether concentrating on specific nations or cross-border themes. The major functions effectively as a standalone degree, paired with a minor, or combined with International Relations or another disciplinary major.
