Earning both a BA in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB) and an MA in Biotechnology offers an accelerated path to gaining advanced knowledge in this dynamic, interdisciplinary field. This combined degree program equips students with comprehensive training for careers across various biotechnology sectors or for pursuing further graduate studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, and similar disciplines.
The MA in Biotechnology is exclusively offered to College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) students enrolled in the BA in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology program, meaning it's solely available as part of a BA/MA dual degree through the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS). Prospective BA/MA candidates should review the BA/MA and BA/MS Programs section in this Bulletin and visit the GRS BA/MA and BA/MS Program Application website.
Learning Outcomes
Achieve comprehensive understanding of core and advanced principles in Biology and Chemistry, emphasizing molecular biology and biochemistry components.
Develop proficiency in scientific methodology, including evaluating scientific literature, interpreting data, and utilizing modeling techniques to enhance comprehension and communication within the BMB field.
Acquire specialized technical and analytical capabilities necessary for professional opportunities or advanced studies in BMB and related fields, including both research positions and science education roles.
