Our program equips graduate students to work with diverse communities across multiple professional capacities, serving as educators and scholars in higher education institutions, as well as experts and administrators in practical environments such as schools, government bodies, and health/social service organizations. Faculty members align their efforts with LSEHD's core objective: enhancing human welfare through education, research, and community engagement.
The curriculum emphasizes developmental and learning processes within social and cultural frameworks. Specialized program strengths in child development studies encompass cognitive and emotional growth from early childhood through teenage years. Additionally, we offer specialized knowledge in adult community-based functioning. Both research and coursework investigate developmental processes across various interconnected contexts and levels.
