Gain a richer perspective on modern times by exploring past events and diverse cultures. Our program covers European, American, Latin American, African, Middle Eastern, and Asian history from ancient times to the present. Courses expose you to essential historical research methods and theoretical approaches.
As analytical thinkers, students learn to use historical investigation techniques and present their findings with clarity. Through examining primary sources, they develop insights into different cultural perspectives and worldviews. The curriculum emphasizes critical examination of historical documents to understand how interpretations shift across different viewpoints. Students also learn to connect past occurrences with contemporary issues.
To complete this concentration, students must take 5 extra history courses beyond core requirements, including at least one focused on Latin American, African, Middle Eastern, or Asian history.
