We concentrate on the core principles and functioning of constitutional governance, the qualities and development of political leaders, and how these connect to civil society and educating individuals for practicing freedom. Civic learning encompasses understanding government systems, while also fostering citizen development through engagement with community organizations and public service. Effective civic structures not only protect people from political overreach but also cultivate the attitudes and values essential for engaged citizenship and effective leadership. Doctoral candidates in our program can pursue interdisciplinary specializations like Religion and Politics or Politics and Literature, integrating coursework from university departments including Church-State Studies, English, history, philosophy, and sociology.
