The History Doctoral Program merges cutting-edge instruction with intensive seminars covering American, British, and worldwide historical studies. Specializing in religion and cultural studies, students can focus on diverse areas including the American Revolution, Intellectual History, the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, 20th Century America, Gender and Women's Studies, Medieval England, the British Empire, the North Atlantic World, and Global History spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Global Christianity. Each year, we admit a select group of 3-4 exceptional candidates.
