The Mechanical Engineering pre-major provides students with a solid engineering foundation through coursework in thermal/fluids, materials/mechanical systems, and design. Beyond core mechanical engineering classes, students can pursue specialization by selecting electives that enhance their application of fundamental principles and their capacity to design machinery and energy systems. The program also offers student organizations specifically for mechanical engineering majors, such as Society of Automotive Engineers Baja, National Society of Black Engineers, and Engineers with a Mission, providing avenues for leadership growth, career advancement, hands-on projects, and community service.
Graduates with a Mechanical Engineering degree can pursue diverse career paths across multiple sectors including aerospace, architecture, oil and gas, and various other industries. Numerous students also choose to further their engineering education through graduate programs at Baylor University and other institutions.
Students must have completed high school. English Language Requirements: IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL score of 80, PTE score of 60, Duolingo English Test score of 110. Application Deadline: February 1st for Fall semester; November 15th for Spring semester.
