The Middle Grades Education Program is perfect for those passionate about guiding developing minds through transformative years. Teaching middle school students, who are exploring their identities and future aspirations, ensures an engaging classroom environment. This program develops skilled educators who will receive a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with specialized 4-8 grade certification. Additional certification options include English as a Second Language.
Baylor's School of Education provides Teacher Education majors with distinctive opportunities. Differing from conventional programs, it incorporates seven semesters of practical classroom experience. The curriculum progressively enhances theoretical knowledge while gradually increasing student responsibilities each term. During their final year, participants teach full-time throughout both fall and spring semesters. Local Waco schools collaborate with Baylor's School of Education to offer valuable field experiences for aspiring teachers.
