The Legal Studies Program is ideal for students pursuing careers in the legal field, whether in government, public law, or corporate law. Among over 1,000 paralegal programs nationwide, Ball State's stands out as one of fewer than 300 programs accredited by the American Bar Association. Students in the Legal Studies program explore diverse legal specialties such as family law, civil and criminal litigation, dispute resolution, constitutional law, criminal justice, regulatory law, and corporate law. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on training to prepare graduates for professional achievement. This program also serves as exceptional preparation for those planning to attend law school. Alongside the University Core Curriculum, students complete foundational legal studies courses before specializing in either Public Law or Business Law. A mandatory internship provides real-world experience working alongside legal professionals.
