This early learning program is offered through the Family and Child major within the Department of Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies. Grounded in comprehensive studies of child development, education, and family dynamics, the curriculum trains students to support infants, toddlers, young children, and their families in non-licensure environments. Graduates will be prepared for roles as lead teachers, administrators, home visitors, or coaches in early childhood centers, educational programs, daycare facilities, Head Start programs, or home-based childcare settings. Ball State's bachelor's degree in early childhood education (non-licensure track) meets the rigorous standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our program holds national accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and Ball State University maintains accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission.
