Our family and child studies program equips you to create meaningful change for families and children. Choose from three specialized tracks: child development, family studies, or child life. Graduates enter diverse fields—from early education centers to healthcare facilities to social service organizations—or continue to advanced degrees. The child life specialization trains you to support young patients and their families in medical environments, applying developmental principles and family-centered approaches. Our curriculum meets the standards of the Association of Child Life Professionals, the field's certification body. Master theoretical frameworks in family and child studies and implement them practically. Develop skills to analyze research methodologies, apply key findings in child life practice, and maintain professional standards. Hone both verbal and written communication abilities for child life careers, incorporating technology where beneficial.
