Ball State's economics program equips students for diverse and challenging careers in business, government, nonprofits, education, legal fields, finance, and beyond. You'll gain deep insights into economic systems and their adaptations to changing conditions. Our rigorous curriculum offers small classes led by dedicated faculty, an active economics student organization, internship placements, practical experiences like the Federal Reserve Challenge, and additional learning through the John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise and the Center for Business and Economic Research. The economics bachelor's degree consists of four components: University Core requirements, foundational courses in either business or liberal arts (based on your selection), specialized economics classes, and elective options. We highly encourage all economics students to complete at least one calculus course. Opting for the liberal arts track provides excellent preparation for broad careers in economics, business, or legal professions.
