History serves as humanity's shared recollection, a process of examining scattered clues to weave together a coherent story that interprets our past. Graduates from our program have built thriving careers in legal fields, education, national park services, and historical organizations. Our department honors both time-honored practices and progressive approaches. We combine techniques and data from anthropology, biology, geography, and related fields to understand human societies within their ecological contexts and relationships with other species. Studying history provides insights into our present behaviors while developing versatile skills that launch our graduates into fulfilling professional paths.
