Our pre-health programs equip you with essential knowledge for thriving careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, optometry, medical technology, and related healthcare fields. While many institutions limit pre-health students to biology or chemistry majors, we deliver a more comprehensive education through varied course selections and strategic regional partnerships, preparing you thoroughly for professional school applications. Dental professionals globally address oral health issues, performing services ranging from preventive cleanings to orthodontic treatments and complex surgeries. Ball State's pre-dentistry program combines core studies in biology, chemistry, physics, and other disciplines required for admission to ADA-accredited dental schools. You'll have the option to pursue a complementary second major that enhances your qualifications if dental school plans change. Though most dental students complete traditional four-year undergraduate programs, high-achieving students working with our pre-health advisors may accelerate their path to graduation in three years.
