Medical technologists are essential in detecting and preventing illnesses through performing diverse, sophisticated lab tests across healthcare facilities, physician practices, diagnostic labs, and academic research environments. As a Ball State medical technology student, you'll master laboratory techniques in bacteriology, chemistry, serology (analyzing serum reactions and characteristics), and blood bank operations - all crucial competencies for the field. Following three years of coursework, you'll complete an immersive clinical lab program to acquire practical, real-world experience.
Students should apply as a freshman undergraduate student if:
Students have completed or will complete high school or secondary school before the semester you apply to start
Students have not attended a university, college, or other postsecondary institution
Students wish to earn a bachelor’s degree
Required Scores to demonstrate English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79; IELTS 6.5 Band; Pearson's PTE 53
