Delve into the core principles of impactful communication and develop your expertise as a proficient communicator through our bachelor's program in communication studies. Your academic journey will feature experiential learning through practical projects, internships, and instruction from distinguished professors in intimate classroom settings. Select from specialized tracks in public, interpersonal, or organizational communication—each designed to prepare you for advanced studies or fulfilling careers across diverse sectors including corporate, government, political, nonprofit, or media fields. All communication studies majors are required to complete 21 credits of foundational courses covering argumentation, human interaction, cross-cultural communication, persuasive techniques, presentation skills, and communication frameworks. Students must enroll in COMM 201 during their initial semester within the department before selecting one of three concentration paths in public, interpersonal, or organizational communication.
