Middle and high school students need passionate, innovative teachers to guide them through their academic journey. Could this be the fulfilling career path you're seeking? AUM's Secondary Education program equips you to teach grades 6-12, providing 150 hours of real-world teaching practice before you graduate. Each instructional methods course includes practical fieldwork where you'll collaborate with veteran educators in local schools. You'll be mentored by AUM's distinguished faculty - recipients of prestigious honors including Sigma Alpha Pi's Excellence in Teaching Award, Montgomery Public Schools' Teacher of the Year, and the College of Education's Excellence in Teaching Award. The program bridges theory and practice through supervised teaching practicums in partner schools, culminating in a teaching internship with an experienced mentor. You'll accumulate hundreds of hours of guided classroom experience, applying teaching methodologies directly in educational settings.
