The AUM Secondary Education degree equips you to teach middle and high school students.
Before graduating, you'll complete 150 hours of hands-on teaching practice. Each methods course incorporates real-world field experience, allowing you to collaborate with seasoned educators in local schools to apply your knowledge.
You'll specialize in one of four concentrations:
English/Language Arts
History/Social Sciences
You'll be taught by AUM's award-winning faculty, recognized internationally for achievements including Sigma Alpha Pi's Excellence in Teaching, Montgomery Public Schools' Teacher of the Year, and the College of Education's Excellence in Teaching awards.
The program transitions you from our classrooms to yours through supervised practicums in partner schools. You'll complete an internship with a master teacher, accumulating hundreds of supervised classroom hours to implement teaching strategies from your coursework.
