The Auburn MPA program's core purpose is to enhance competent, responsible public service within our interconnected global landscape encompassing government and nonprofit sectors. We achieve this through integrated teaching, research, and community engagement that empowers a varied student body with civic responsibility, equipping them with essential expertise, competencies, ethics, and drive to positively impact their communities.

Our curriculum focuses on developing professional competencies that prepare graduates to serve as efficient, ethical leaders in governmental and nonprofit settings.

Recognizing public service's evolving nature within our interconnected world, we cultivate globally-minded professionals who value diversity. We develop adaptable, creative problem-solvers prepared for public service's shifting demands. Additional details about this approach are available in our MPA Program handbook.

Our integrated educational model, reflected in our mission, intentionally builds what we term civic agency - providing not just professional tools but also inspiring students to create meaningful change in communities locally and worldwide.
