The College of Education develops skilled, dedicated, and thoughtful professionals who contribute to creating a brighter tomorrow for people, our state, our country, and the global community. The college provides degree programs in educator preparation along with health and rehabilitation fields through its Department of Curriculum and Teaching, Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology, School of Kinesiology, and Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling.
The Department of Curriculum and Teaching focuses on training educators in subject-specific, evidence-based teaching methods. Faculty collaborate with school practitioners to deliver comprehensive hands-on training in varied educational environments. Every teacher preparation program meets the standards set by the Alabama State Board of Education. Additionally, Auburn University's College of Education holds accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), while music education programs are recognized by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
