The Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences provides four specialized degree paths (production, science, turfgrass, and soil, water, and land use) while also overseeing the cross-disciplinary Environmental Sciences program. These degree programs are designed to equip students for diverse professional opportunities across multiple sectors, including the turfgrass sector, agricultural supply businesses (such as manufacturers of fertilizers, pesticides, and related products), agricultural consulting services (including soil analysis labs and private advisory firms), environmental assessment and government regulation, public agricultural support organizations (like the Agricultural Extension System or Natural Resources Conservation Service), research institutions and corporate entities, USDA positions, academic institutions and research stations, agricultural operations, and environmental organizations.
